You know I can't keep calm. Hearing that sound, you know I go crazy.

The month is 2/3 over, and the best way to get through the last days, is go to the Mall with someone fantastic, go to an apples store for the first time, purchase real cheap CD's and a Wolverine Bobble Head. I found myself with the Gorillaz, Sweeny Todd, Little Miss Sunshine, and the newest Dollyrots CD. The title being from the song currently stuck in my head, my heart explodes.
It's been a while since I've posted a blog, because, well, it takes me longer to pound out one of these than I'd like to admit. That's probably why I've been spending more time at redgage and tumblr, than I do here. I mean, most of the stuff on there will end up here eventually, so you don't need to go make accounts if you want to see everything I post. Once I get an acceptance letter, I'm guessing my mind will be less jumbled, and these will be more frequently posted.
So, I've been doing a lot more watercolouring than anything else, except maybe non-objective pen doodling. I really love my new brushes, which go to school in a sort of on-the-go watercolour kit. I even bring strips and pieces of heavier paper, from cropping other things I've painted.
I have the week off, so I'm hoping to get some more arty farty things done, once school stuff, SAT's are sent, my room's clean and I've got my guitar string replaced. Below, you can see some of the drawings I've done, and photos I've posted. As always, click to see them larger, on deviantart, tumblr, redgage or photobucket.

Sarah!
PS, if you have a tumblr, go here before the end of the month. Trust me

Merrymaking

The title is pretty much irrelevant. This is what many would call a sketch dump. The title comes from a Song that's been stuck in my head a few days, Merrymaking At My Place, by Calvin Harris. Really, I need to stop talking to Tiffy, her good taste in music is trying to kill my camera fund (for I go buy CD's).
My two art classes are going well. I'm getting ready to work on a subtractive sculpture (which I cannot wait for.) It's this intricate snail and will be difficult to make out of plaster, with this hollow web-looking sort of shell. But, my teacher has no faith in me, so naturally, I have to do it.
I'm enjoying my other class as well. Now that I've [almost totally] stopped worrying about [not] being as talented as all my classmates, it works out better, and I'm less stressed. I get to spend up to 3 periods a day (120+ minutes) drawing. What is better than that? Exactly.
NaNoWriMo starts on Monday! I'm SO excited. I'd point you to the writing blog, but it's been quite odd recently. "Poetry," Rhymey-Schmymey stuff and all that feely-dealy. Just ignore it. I'll let you know when it becomes relevant again.
Now, for the pages in my sketchbook. Click each to view it larger.

Sarah

Art School

Well, more like art in and for school. Let's just say that, while I do pay attention in class, I have a tendancy to doodle. Oh, and there is the stuff I draw specifially because it's graded in one of my art classes. So at the end of the post, you can see the first page in my Advanced Art Class sketchbook, plus some doodle pages.
Oh also, I just made myself Eggs Benedict. It makes me happy, not only because it is delicious, but because I've wanted it for what feels like AAAAGGGGEEESSSS. Plus, it reminds me of Benedick from 'Much Ado About Nothing,' my most favourite of plays. I've no clue which Shakespeare we're to read in Lit this year. All I know about that class is, the teacher doesn't think I talk enough. That isn't great.
Anyway, first my drawings for art class:

And some Doodles.

Happy Autumn!!

I am sorry I forgot to tell you guys sooner, I've just been a bit occupied. I remembered today for a few reasons. Mostly, because it happened to be one of those fuzzy-sock wearing, cocoa-drinking, drawing and doodling sort of days. I've wrapped myself in a blanket and just felt cozy, which I adore. And, after I went outside to draw "something from Nature" for my art class, I really needed the cocoa.
I've been plotting sketchbook covers, since my moleskins are thin and plain, so not only will I get to decorate them, but I'll also go through them more rapidly than other sketchbooks.
I feel as though I haven't been terribly productive today. I've spoken to Sam and a Myriad of other wonderful people, and caught up on my blogs. That reminds me, I think you should check out Jessica's blog. She's an artist as well, doing a lot of painting, as well as other wonderful and arty things. She seems to think a lot like I do. Show her some love. Part of me wonders if I haven't posted any practice paintings of people, because I envy her ability to paint skin. Like, until my shadows and highlights are as smooth as hers, I won't feel up to par. Oh well, haha, here I go again, comparison after comparison. :P
Oh, and there is one more thing I did today. I MADE CUPCAKES! Chocolate ones, with this delicious chocolate filling that Jacq gave me the recipe for, and chocolate frosting on top. I enjoy baking, and tomorrow will be the second time I'm bringing cupcakes to school, for my friends, for no reason other then, because I can. Now, to actually finish a drawing for Illustration Friday this week.

This is Dumpy

So, as promised, more drawings/sketches to post. Mostly doodles, but hey, it's better than nothing, right? Anyway, I'm less sick, almost over it, so I can bake soon. Thankfully I'm not to behind in school, so I can make everything up pretty quick (I'm halfway there as it is.). Oh, and I've decided I'm going to start really writing more again. I never realized what went through my head, until it started to clog up.
Oh, and I'm still stressing, have planned my post for the 16th, and am ready to get started on it, this weekend. I had something else to lament over, but I've forgotten it... Oh well. Doodles, ect below.

Sketches, Doodles and Planning, Oh My!

So, I've been drawing every day, and you'll see that in a second. But first, I've an artshow to discuss with ye.
I enjoy making semi-large goals for myself, and the last one I set was to currate an art show. So, I've been gathering my friends together, and planning an art show. I made some calls today, and left some messages. Hopefully I'll hear back tomorrow. So yeah, if anyone has any suggestions for running one, I'm all ears.
Now for, the Sketch dump.
