We'll make it through another working day.

I need a holiday. The Days drag and I'm loosing my mind. But, at least I've been semi-productive.
Yeah, Scary, I know. I've finished sending stuff to the college I'd like to attend, emailed about double majoring, gotten government service hours (a graduating requirement) handed in. Plus, I've been slightly arty-farty. PLUS, I slept more last night than I have in weeks. That makes me happy.
Anyway. You get to see some of my arty-endeavors since last post. Such includes another portrait via a stock image, a doodle done with my tablet (as is the new banner,) and some other random doodles you may or may not like. As always, click to see them larger, the first ones being on deviantart.

Oh, and the last one scares me a bit. I'm not sure why I ended up drawing something like this, and was bored so I attacked it with watercolour. I dunno. I don't happen to be in love, and it's highly doubtful someone thinks they are in love with me. Pick your favorite fictitious couple, it is he and her.

Confused,
Sarah

Ka-Bam

I told you I'd be back, didn't I? I could have sworn I mentioned dumping loads of doodles and drawings upon you. Either way, I spammed dA, and now you guys. The following is a bunch of pages from my current sketchbook, Robin, so it's pen, marker or crayon, on recycled paper. You can click them for a larger view, and more information.

So, here's the deal-eo. I've a week off for the holidays, so once I catch up with all my school work, I hope to get a few more posts up. If there is anything you'd like to see me draw/sketch/paint with pen/pencil/crayon/acrylic/watercolour let me know. I love suggestions.
Also, if you  would nose around the content here, that'd be great. 74 cents for every 1000 clicks and all that jazz. I've hit $51 dollars, and since I'm saving all my money for a camera, I could use it for art supplies and film developing... and caffeine. So yeah, if you've a bit of spare time, I'd love you forever if you went though the photos I posted, and the links etc.
I'm not going to taunt you with everything I got for Christmas.... Just the fact that I got a 64 pack of crayons, with the built in sharpener :P Be jealous.
So yeah, happy end of 2010, heres to a better 2011. I'll be back with resolutions, plans, ideas, and more incoherent babbling.
Happy Belated Christmas!

Ball Point Pen

So, I've been using my new Moleskin sketchbook, but I'm a bit upset. Gel pen bleeds through, so I've had to switch to ball point. And, the only two I could find, they both exploded on me in school today. I'd love you forever if you gave me one... snail mail? Hehehe.
I've decided I'm going to be working on a self-portrait for my art class/portfolio. Wish me luck, I've never done one from the mirror, so I'll be doing a bit of practice sketches before I start it. I've yet to decide the medium, but I'm guessing it will be pencil, charcoal or pastels.
Also, my school has quite a few nice scanners in the art rooms. *Hopefully* I can scan some photographs without the teachers minding, including re-scanning my others. My scanner makes lines, and I can't bring myself to post such, when I really like said photos.
Well, have a good night, I've self-portraits to try. Ugh.

Stripes

Yes, the title is relevant, just give it time. First, I would like to do a teensie bit of rambling. I'm in a happy, ramble-y sort of mood. Not only am I happy, but it's almost 1am, and I've hit my second bounce-off-the-walls wind. Such Magnificent moods must be utilized, so I'll be running upstairs or laying on the floor to draw once this is posted. I may be right, I may not be. Either way, I feel happy, and have even before I started putting puzzle pieces together, sort of. I'm going to loath myself for it tomorrow, but I'm quite happy, and cannot help it.
I bet my acceptance of stuff, and decision to change, re-arrange and prioritize helps too. I've even spent a few hours cleaning my room, getting to know my instruments a bit more again, and tossing a lot of junk that was cluttering my space. Now the lair is great for productivity.
OH! My mum is totally willing to drive me to see one of my cousins tomorrow, which totally makes my day. It means more ears to draw for my art class, and a kick-arse sleep over with one of my best friends. Plus, we're dyin' some stuff, which should be loads of fun. Anyway,
It's sad to say my sketchbook Salazar's pages are now littered with ink, graphite and paint. So, I've begun a new sketchbook, which you'll see at the end of this. But, before you see that, the last 2 pages (that I enjoy) from Salazar. The first is a braided lady, and the second is me messing around with pencil and watercolours during Sculpture class, (once I finished.) You can click each to see them larger.
Now, Stripes:

Have a Nice Night/Morning/Day,
Sarah

This is Dumpy

So, as promised, more drawings/sketches to post. Mostly doodles, but hey, it's better than nothing, right? Anyway, I'm less sick, almost over it, so I can bake soon. Thankfully I'm not to behind in school, so I can make everything up pretty quick (I'm halfway there as it is.). Oh, and I've decided I'm going to start really writing more again. I never realized what went through my head, until it started to clog up.
Oh, and I'm still stressing, have planned my post for the 16th, and am ready to get started on it, this weekend. I had something else to lament over, but I've forgotten it... Oh well. Doodles, ect below.

"Kidding"
Pen & Sharpie on 5 1/2" by 7 1/2" Paper
(click for larger view)

Yeah, I cannot draw jell-o to save my life, but, still. I like it. Since I started in my new sketchbook, I've been using sharpie up the wazoo, so I figured why not? Yes, that is Jell-o with Broccoli in it. So, yeah. It's self explanitory. Nothin' special.

Also, not IF related, I had a kick ass first day of my senior year. I'm taking band and 2 art classes. And I've a free period to draw during. Let's just say, I'm diggin' high school.
Have a good night.

Meet Salazar and What I've Been Working On

Soooo, My Sketchbook, Lotus is, sadly, full. But, it is also a joyous occasion. A few days ago, I began working in Salazar. He's this kick ass semi-hard covered book, with slightly green tinted papers, and a Slytherin Crest on the cover. I love him.
So, he is the best sketchbook ever. Sharpie doesn't bleed through his pages, and he takes acrylic paint rather well. I love him, so much. I know, I'm odd talking about an object in such a way. But, remember that I'm easily amused. (Looking at the photo reminds me of a movie I watched the other day. Why did they have to kill all the snakes on the plane?!? They have feelings too.) I'll post a few of the things I've done in him thus far. I'll get more of the sketches up later.

(Click the Thumbnails for Larger View & Details)

Soooooooo, in other news, I start school tomorrow, and am incredibly excited! PLUS, today while at the home improvement store, I picked up an adjustable window screen, so I've two pieces of mesh on frames. They are large enough, so if I'm lucky I can make large sheets of paper. I've always wanted to recycle paper. If all goes well, I'll be making my own sketchbooks in no time. Plus, I could share with my friends :) Also, I've a roll of film to pick up from the store, and another roll and a disposable camera to pick up. So, I'm quite the happy camper right now.
Yay for the beginning of the school year!

Sarah

Let's pretend this is a Catchy title, that makes you wanna read this and look at the pictures and drawings

So, today I got to teach an oboe lesson to an awesome 8 year old, who kicks arse, and then my friend Sam and I spent a couple hours outside walking, as I took 300 photos of him. We learned some stuff;
1- Don't sit by a bus stop, even by mistake. Drivers get pissed when they stop for you and you walk away.
2- Football players are afraid of the rain.
3- Always bring change for a payphone.
4- The Parkinglot that includes biglots is now called "The Lot."
Of the 300+ photos I took of him, so far, I like five.

[One] [Two] [Three] [Four]

Also, here are some drawings, from lotus and not. Because I can, really. And I finally remembered to take photos of them, since the scanner doesn't work atm. -_-

I'm done uploading to deviantart, and I've caught up on my blog reading. So, gute nacht. Time for bed, little sheep little sheep...... Pffft who am I kidding? I'm gonna draw and light paint :P

Ooh, Drawings

Quick blurt of word vomit, and then you get to see some sketches and drawings. Wooo.
Few things, why are humans so mean to themselves? Did you know that I'm right? Did you know that I walk at least a mile, every day? As of last night, I'm obsessed with google mapping everywhere I walk. I hate princess movies, because I blame them for my desire to have a knight in shining armour show up. I'm trying to find mesh suitable for paper-making. I'm going to the state fair tomorrow, which means creeper photos and people watching/sketching. Oh, and it's been a week since I've painted. I don't like that.
ANYWAY, below you'll see what happens when I'm upset and have markers, and a couple pages from my sketch book. Oh, and yes, that is Maximilien François Marie Isidore de Robespierre. I love him.

With Love and Guillotines,
Sarah

.:IF:. Atmosphere

"Expecto"
7 1/2" by 5 1/2" of recycled sketchbook paper with Bic pen

So, Illustration #2 for Illustration friday. This time, I got myself a fancy-schmancy 4 coloured pen, so I could draw some green land. Basically, it equates the atmosphere to a wizards Patronus. Yes, a God/Harry Potter joke. You are welcome. It says "And God was like, Expecto Patronum." This is also in my sketchbook lotus, who I am afriad & excited to say, is almost full. two dozen pages left, maybe? I need to sketch dump again, but I haven't time.
Not related to IF but, my friend, the Amasian gave me single use cameras today, 6 of them. I love her, the film is all expired. I've looked up what can happen to the film. YayYayYay! It's good, considering the digital camera I'm to use until I get a new one really hates me. Oh well. Have a good night.

Sarah

.:IF:. Star Gazing

"If Only You Were Real"
7 1/2" by 5 1/2" of recycled sketchbook paper with Pilot and Bic pen

This is my first drawing for Illustration Friday, at Illustrationfriday.com. The first time I check out the site, the theme couldn't be any more ironic. One of those 'Story of my life' sort of moments, but I did it any way. I tweaked it with irfanview, but all in all, I like it. Plus, I imagine I know how she feels. In the back of her mind, she had an inkling of what it would be like, to just stand there watching the stars, being held by someone who truely cares, while she feels as though she stands alone.

Oh look, tis a Sketch Dump

As promised, Here is a dump of sketches, as well as a drawing and random page that's music inspired. Click each for the large image.
The sketchbook pages are drawn on with various pens and markers, along with a little bit of coloured pencil, prismacolour to be exact. You see faces, "Repo the Genetic Opera" 'Fan Art,' hands, different parts of the face, random spazzy words and.... I've a thing for drawing tongues. More specifically licking things. Don't ask.

With Love,
Sarah
